Skilled at “perception renovations,” Candace has spent more than 20 years counseling companies and organizations to rethink their standard approaches to communications, leaning in to bold initiative and innovative strategies. With a background spanning everything from fintech to public service; hospitality to transportation, Candace’s work is as diverse as the companies she promotes. Her eye toward the next new thing resulted in her being an early adopter of digital marketing among her PR peers, tapping its potential well over a decade ago.
Her adeptness at breaking down the silos between PR, marketing and digital communications has resulted in impactful, award-winning programs for global, national and regional brands including Barclays, SunTrust, Lowe’s, Starwood Hotels, PwC, the Georgia Department of Transportation, and Georgia Commute Options.
Prior to founding CKM Communications, Candace spent two decades in both agency and corporate roles, most recently as EVP and Managing Director at BCW (formerly Cohn & Wolfe), leading the Southeast regional office. Prior to that, she served as SVP of Global Marketing for Powa Technologies, a London-based fintech start-up; and as Chief Strategy Officer at Atlanta-based Cookerly Public Relations.
Not one to shy away from challenges, she’s taken on some notable ones: inspiring metro Atlantans to give up their beloved cars (or at least reduce how much time they spend in them); re-instilling consumer confidence in one of the nation’s largest banks following the Great Recession; and making a ground-breaking sustainable community part of the national conversation … more than a year before ground was even broken.
